Is there an option to Save/Edit events that overlap in time

It appears that the calendar does not allow creating events that overlap in time. I have many situations where based on the resource I need to allow overlapping event times. Are there settings I can turn on that allow this?

It should allow this just fine, can you provide a simple test case highlighting the issue?
