Our state of the art Gantt chart

Post by jeanbaptiste.minani »

Hello,
I have a couple of questions to ask about resources management in Bryntum Gantt

  1. Does Bryntum has resource leveling and smoothing features?
  2. How does Bryntum Gannt indicate if the resource is overallocated or more resource are needed on the project?
  3. How does Bryntum Gannt check if task durations needs to be expanded based on the available resources?

Thanks
Maximillien

No it doesn't. Generally speaking the feature is not that often requested. This is the very first time it's requested for the new Bryntum Gantt ..and for the old Gantt for Ext JS it was requested just a couple of times max.
I'll make a feature request for this: https://github.com/bryntum/support/issues/3218

In the current version of the Gantt overallocation cases can be observed in the resource histogram.

If you want a task to recalculate its duration when changing assignments is must be an effort driven task or a task using Fixed Effort scheduling mode. Then when you edit the task assignments (add/remove a resource, edit a resource utilization %, edit a resource working calendars) it automatically recalculates the task duration.
