Touch Scheduler and ExtJS6

Post by Antarctica » Tue Oct 13, 2015 9:34 am

Hello Bryntum team,

we want to switch from Sencha Touch 2 to ExtJS 6 modern. Is this supported by the latest version of Touch Scheduler (1.0.9)?

Will you merge both normal scheduler and Touch scheduler in the near future, like ExtJS is merging both worlds?

Kind regards,

Alexander

Currently it's not supported but this is on our radar for later this year. Stay tuned...

We already found Ext6-modern to be more stable and mature than Sencha Touch 2.x; but we now have to decide whether we have to ride the dead horse ST2 again or whether we can wait for the Touch Scheduler for Ext6-modern.

Could you name an ETA for the Ext6-modern compatible version of Touch Scheduler? A rough estimate (as in: Qx/16) should suffice.

As it looks now, Q2 2016.

Now that five months have passed, does the last estimate still hold?

After seeing Sencha's roadmap, our plan is to hold off on Ext6 modern version until they have upgraded their Modern touch grid to be on feature parity with the Ext 6 classic grid. Once they release that, we should be able to support Touch very easily. Guessing Q4 for their efforts.

With the release of ExtJS 6.2, will we be seeing a modern version of scheduler soon?

As soon as we see a capable grid, then most likely yes. The Modern grid still lacks locked columns and many other features we rely on.

Do you have a new estimate for me?

Still missing very vital features in Touch grid/tree. We'll re-check after Ext 6.5 is here.
