How to resize a Gantt Task from iPad ?

As a matter of fact, from PC web browser, if your mouse hove the right part of the Task then simply grab it and resize (extend/reduce) the event.

But under iOS (iPad) this is impossible either with the finger of the pencil.
I the other hand, (on iOs-iPad) you can access and change with the finger the "% of completion" or Drag an event.
But "Resize" is impossible!
(Just run any of your demos, and try to resize a Task)

Is it a use case requested by your users? It doesn't seem very reasonable to me, since there's no way to decide with precision if a finger down means drag or resize. Better to edit details using the editor popup on touch devices for detailed changes.

Hi,

We do not understand your answer!!

We simply posted an issue with your Gantt demo, that does not allow "Resizing" a Task when running under iOS (iPad). That's it.

This has nothing to do with our users or request? And we never mention such of thing

Then again, why your Gantt Demo (run your demo you'll see) does not allow to resize a Task?

Ok, let me explain. We are curious if this is a feature your end users would be interested in - that's our question. Stop and think about it for a second. The size of a finger is so much bigger than the few px width of a resize handle so unless your task is very wide, it is not really possible to distinguish if user means drag, resize, resize %, or simply scroll the schedule.

Please, be humble and be respectful.. You should first stop and Think twice before answering. Because...

Why under iOS (ipad) the "Scheduler" allows to Drag + Move + Resize any Task BUT when it comes to "Gantt" this is impossible.

Your argues and explanation does not make sense at all and is completely inconsistent, because as far we know, you designed the "Scheduler" that works properly under iOS ; and as far we know you also built the "Gantt", so your explanation is completely absurd since it does not apply to the "Scheduler" (and no matter your Figner size... on iPad). "Scheduler" & "Gantt" should have the same property to wit: Drag + Move + Resize with the finger or pencil when it comes to working on iPad.

You should run your online Demo, on iPad. With the "Scheduler" resize Task is possible whilst "Gantt" is not.
(This is not a problem of the finger size comparing pixel on iPAD...)

Cheers

Why under iOS (ipad) the "Scheduler" allows to Drag + Move + Resize any Task BUT when it comes to "Gantt" this is impossible.
The support for touch devices is not something we have prioritized yet so some gesture may work well, others might still be subject to polishing. In the case of touching the end points of a Gantt task bar, it will be ambiguous what this should mean since you will have these different options:

* User wants to drag-drop to create a dependency between two task
* User wants to resize % done
* User wants to drag to resize end date

This is why it's important to ask if this is something *your users* actually expect to have.

Anyhow, in the case of Gantt task bar resizing, it works fine for me on iOS (iPhone) and in Chrome mobile simulator. Try here: https://bryntum.com/examples/gantt/advanced/
