Please post 1.x related questions in the 1.x Help forum. As for your error check if using ext-all-debug won't give you a better error message.

Getting back to your initial problem - have you used Sch.plugin.TreeCellEditing as Mats suggested ? Have you tried with ext-all-debug.js ?

We need some more information to help. What Ext/Gnt versions are you using ? Have you checked your code with some js lint ? Also you sohuld use ext-all-debug.js to get a proper error message.

What browser and extjs are you testing this on ?

Yes, this should work. This example just shows what our component is capable of, but you can extend it far beyond that.
